Guaria Morada (cattleya skinneri), one of the most common orchids found in Costa Rica and the flower is so popular there that it had been named the national flower of Costa Rica, officially the flower was adopted as the national flower on June 15, 1939. Guaria Morada is usually referred to as a bifoliate Cattleya because of the two leaves that adorn the top of its pseudo bulb.
