Thanksgiving Day is celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving every second Monday in October. Thanksgiving is celebrated to commemorate a feast held in 1621 by the Pilgrims and the native Indians.
Most of North America celebrates the Thanksgiving holiday as an expression of gratitude, usually to God. Thanksgiving is a day marked to give thanks to God for the bounty of the autumn harvest. Thanksgiving Day in America is a time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
