Vera Wang

Vera Wang
For me, flowers and fragrance are the perfect expression of love and commitment.
– Vera Wang

A native New Yorker, Vera Wang has spent her lifetime at the forefront of fashion. As a fashion designer, she is a brand name where bridal gowns are concerned.

In addition to ready-to-wear, she also designs Lavender Label, eveningwear, bridal, footwear, eyewear, fragrance, china and crystal, silver and gifts, fine papers, mattresses and flowers.

Founding her own company in 1990, Vera Wang is known for her nonchalant approach to style and luxury. Her design vocabulary resonates with signature layering, intricate draping and exquisite attention to detail. The Vera Wang style has become a fixture on the world stage lauded in both the domestic and international press.

Her flower arrangements are sold on her own website as well as a leading flower delivery company called FTD Flowers. She also has designed her own collection of flower vases that compliment her arrangements.

A Vera Wang tip on gifting Flowers: A wonderful way to express a singular emotion would be to send a bouquet consisting of one color or one specific variety of flower. If you are trying to express a few different sentiments, send a mixed bouquet of different color or flower varieties to create a truly special gift.

Some Vera Wang Tips on Floral Arrangements

Some Floral designs to achieve the more natural and unstructured look

  • Domed – the flowers are tightly massed within a vessel to have a domed effect on top, the outer edge looking smooth and seamless.
  • Straight & Tall – tall, straight-stemmed flowers in tall, straight vases. This usually shows off the beauty of the stem, as well as the bloom.
  • Free-form – working with the natural curvature of each stem for loose and informal appeal.
  • Grouped – a similar group of flowers (whether it be in color or in texture) are grouped in a cluster, usually in a small vase.

Some Pointers on the spiraling technique:
An easy and spontaneous way to create beautiful flower arrangements

1. Hold the first stem at its middle.
2. Angle the second stem diagonally.
3. Decide whether to add foliage as you go along or at the end.
4. Continue to add stems diagonally creating a spiral at the middle.
5. When you are satisfied with your creation cut the stem 1 inch off the bottom and place in container.
