Royal Horticultural Society-UK
Founded in 1804 as the London horticultural Society, the Royal Horticultural Society is a charity that promotes gardening and horticulture in UK and Europe.
It promotes gardening through its flagship gardens and flower shows that are based out of Surrey, Devon, Essex and Yorkshire. These gardens are open to public throughout the year but it is the annual Chelsea flower show that the RHS conducts is the most popular of all its flower shows.

These flower shows are also used as a platform to conduct conventions and seminars.
The Royal Horticultural Society takes an active interest in educating gardeners about the latest gardening techniques and researches on flower growing and care. These researches are carried out by the scientists based at the Laboratory at RHS Garden Wisley.
As a means of promoting its research activities around the workd, the RHS releases a series of publications which include three of the world´s most respected gardening journals

- The plantsman
- The Orchid Review
The RHS also operates the community based Britain in Bloom competition as a part of its mission to promote environmental consciousness. Britain in Bloom also promotes good practice in the environment by encouraging recycling, the establishment of conservation areas and other sustainable projects.

The RHS is also the custodian of the Lindley Library, housed within its headquarters at 80 Vincent Square, London, and in branches at each of its four gardens. The library is based upon the book collection of John Lindley.
The Royal Horticultural Society functions out of membership revenue and funds donated by flower enthusiasts from around the world. They also rely on donations and sponsorship to supplement income from the garden operations, flower shows, shops and plant centres.
