Longest running event

Party themes will be featured in the Artistic Design Division of Ocean City's 37th Annual Flower Show set for June 5-7 in the Music Pier auditorium, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.

Standard Flower Show

The Navarre Garden Club will sponsor its annual flower show entitled "Celebration" at the Navarre Visitor Center on June 3-4. The club has advanced this year's flower show from "Small-Standard" Show to a Standard Flower Show.

Flower Power show

The bloom is almost off the rose for this year's Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Sunday is the last day to admire the vast expanse of flower beds, topiaries, displays and foliage brought into the theme parks for the festival. The weekend's Flower Power concert artist will be Tony Orlando.

Filled with flowers over the bank

SHIPBOURNE church was filled with flowers over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate the refurbishment of the Lady Vane chapel and the completion of work to the roof. Member of the congregation Lynette Sargent suggested the idea for the flower festival as a celebration as one had not been held in the church for more than 20 years.

Flowers and Ornamental plants

Jakartans, especially plant lovers, can enjoy many kinds of flowers and ornamental plants in a festival which takes place in Rawa Belong in West Jakarta, from May 27 to July 26. The event is aimed at promoting decorative plants, including anti-pollution plants, to public.

AGREB, CROATIA - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic opened the 44 th international Floraart floral show at Zagreb's Lake Bundek on Tuesday. Visitors are free to see the wonderful flowers until May 31, no entrance fee required. The show takes place on over 30 hectares of open space and 2,000 squared metres of closed surface with 160 Croatian and 15 foreign exhibitors from 10 countries - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany, USA and Slovenia.

Official flower of the City of Hattiesburg

The 14th Annual Daylily Show will be held Saturday at Lake Terrace Convention Center. In addition to showing a variety of daylilies entered for judging, the show also will feature the flowers used in arrangements. Other show activities include a plant sale and educational sessions. The daylily is the official flower of the City of Hattiesburg.

Navarre Garden Club sponsors

The Navarre Garden Club will sponsor their annual flower show at the Navarre Visitor Center on June 3rd & 4th. The show this year is titled "Celebration", and has advanced to a Standard Flower Show. In past years it was always a "Small-Standard" Show.

More than 200 exhibitors taking part

The largest garden of the metropolis, surprisingly, will be putting down roots in the Beirut Hippodrome for the next few days. The Garden Show and Spring Festival, an eclectic fair that will give a projected 20,000 Beirutis a whiff of the summer to come, opened on Tuesday at the Beirut Hippodrome. This is the sixth edition of the Garden Show, which is receiving an increasing number of visitors each year and is clearly taking root in Beirut.

Monthly floral exhibitions

Fifth of the series, the theme of the monthly floral exhibition for May was daylily (hemerocallis aurantiaca). May is the month in which daylilies blossom. It's very sensitive flower having single-day life; as the evening falls they fade away. These flowers can be found in all colours except blue and white. Once planted one can enjoy daylilies for four years after which they stop blooming.

Standard flower show

Imagine spending a day seeing dozens of designs by top Massachusetts floral designers, enjoying gardens created and lovingly preserved over decades, appreciating an exhibition of Ikebana, getting your gardening questions answered by experts, and shopping for stunning plants. The "Open House" weekend at the Elm Bank Reservation, May 30 and 31, is just such an opportunity.

Cahaba Lily Festival

West Blocton's Cahaba Lily Festival got its start 20 years ago when members of the West Blocton Improvement Committee tried to come up with ways to perk up their hometown. Organizers hope the 20th annual festival, to be held Saturday downtown at The Lily Center on Main Street, will do the same thing.

137-year-old show

Now Paragon Group of Needham has announced it will stage a new Boston Flower & Garden Show on March 24-28. Many people who helped organize the old show are on board, said Carolyn Weston, who now works for Paragon after being laid off with most of the horticultural society staff after the 2008 show.

Flowers imported from Holland

A rose garden will be developed at Bryant Park and safety grills installed around Pillar Rock, Guna Caves and around Kodaikanal lake, according to R. Kirlosh Kumar. He was inaugurating the summer festival and flower show at Bryant Park here on Saturday. The district administration had sent proposals at an estimated cost of Rs.5 crore for various development activities on the hill station.

Polo Women's Garden Club

The Polo Women's Garden Club Second Annual Flower Show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Polo Town Hall. This year's theme is "Flowers and Butterflies". After a great show and turnout last year, the garden club has decided to sponsor another one with even more to see and do.

Flowers Floral Show and Competition

United Action for Youth will be hosting the 4th Annual Festival of Flowers Floral Show and Competition to be held at the Brown Deer Golf Course Clubhouse. This year's theme is Here Comes the Sun, Our Community Blooms Again.

Photography, butterflies at Newport Flower Show

The annual Newport Flower Show includes a Butterfly House and a new competitive Photography Division this year when it unfolds June 26-28 at Rosecliff, one of Newport's Gilded Age mansions. Hours for the show are 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, June 26, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the weekend, June 27 and 28. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate.

Annual flower show this week

The Chelsea Flower Show runs from 19 to 23 May at the Royal Hospital Gardens, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3 4SR. Alternatively here are a few horticultural-inspired treats you might enjoy before, after or in between admiring the flowers. The show, which starts on 19 May was first launched in 1852 and moved to its current site at London's Royal Hospital Gardens in 1912.

Flowers arranged by Melksham Flower Arranging Club

The festival at St Michael's Church in Canon Square will begin with a preview evening on Friday, May 22 at 6.30pm and will include flowers arranged by Melksham Flower Arranging Club. There will also be several organists playing at various intervals throughout the weekend.

Horticulture is between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m

St. Michael Garden Guild will have its annual flower show and dinner May 27 in the parish hall. The Very Best of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons is the theme. The entry time for arrangements and horticulture is between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Any member who has not received a flower show booklet can contact Marlene Ditchey.

50,000 Dutch flowering bulbs

The New York Botanical Garden invites local residents to visit its new spring flower show, "The Glory of Dutch Bulbs: A Legacy of 400 Years," open now through Sunday, June 7. This attraction celebrates the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's arrival in New York by bringing a touch of Holland to the Bronx with a colorful showcase of nearly 50,000 Dutch flowering bulbs in the Haupt Conservatory.

All flower growers should get their plants ready for the 134th 2009 Troy Fair Flower Show. People can bring in their entries between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, to the old Grange Horticulture Building, which is located down the hill from the Mitchell House. Doors close at 5 p.m. for judging, and exhibits may not be removed until between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2.

Awards will be presented for Best in Show

Entries are being sought for the 4th Annual Festival of Flowers Floral Show and Competition to be held at the Brown Deer Golf Course Clubhouse on May 28. Awards will be presented for Best in Show, Most Creative Container, Best Use of Theme and a People's Choice Award for each division. All entries will be on display during an afternoon preview and be available for purchase through silent and live auctions during the evening reception.

Flower show at Union County College's Cranford campus

The Plainfield Garden Club, a member of The Garden Club of America, will be hosting "The Written Word," a flower show at Union County College's Cranford campus, 1033 Springfield Ave. The show will be held from 10 to 3 in the Victor M. Richel Student Commons and is open to public at no charge.

Big Tulip Fest events

If you want any of the tulips on display for your own home garden, it is possible, but you have to wait until this weekend. On Sunday the 17th of May, the tulip bulbs will go on sale at the Lake House in Washington Park at 8:00am. The big Tulip Fest events kick off Saturday morning. Starting at 10:30am, there will be pre-coronation events at the Washington Park Lake House.

Flower Show

The committee of Ilkley Flower Show, which has been running for 56 years, has lost a member to ill-health and its president, Maureen Pollard, is stepping down. This year's show is in the Clarke Foley Centre, Cunliffe Road, on Saturday, August 8. A fundraising coffee morning is being held at the same venue on Saturday, May 23, starting at 10am.

Kenya Flower Council

The Kenya Flower Council (KFC) and flower vendors associations will this weekend stage the third flower show at Nairobi's Village Market. KFC chief executive, Ms Jane Ngige, said the 2009 show has been expanded in response to a growing local market as the industry strives to shed over-reliance on exports, which are currently smarting from the global financial crisis, and promote consumption of flowers locally.

1000 varieties of flowers

A flower show featuring a wide variety of flowers, arranged in vases and various designs was organised in Chennai. Called as 'Chennai Flower Show,' the show opened at Young Men Christian Organisation (YMCA) Grounds in Royapettah on Friday and will continue for ten days.

Cranford Community Center

The Floraphile Garden Club, The Garden Club of Cranford and The Green Thumb Garden Club present Riverwalk, a Standard Flower Show on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 at The Cranford Community Center. Hours on Friday are 2 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Annual Festival of Flowers from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m

The Beechmont Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Festival of Flowers from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the gazebo at Southern Parkway and Woodlawn Avenue. The event will feature live music throughout the day, as well as the sale of herbs, perennials, bedding plants, ornamental planters and garden art.

Lakeville Garden Club

The Lakeville Garden Club is planning its third flower show to be open to the public on Saturday, June 20. "Celebrating Summer" will be a full standard show with five design classes and six horticultural classes.

Flower Show in Thessaloniki

The Thessaloniki Flower Show organised by the northern Greek city's municipal authority opened its doors at its "Pedion tou Areos" park. The sixty producers participating in the exhibition are presenting original flower arrangements and plants, aiming to attract as many visitors as possible.

Annual Dogwood Trail Garden

The annual Dogwood Trail Garden Club Flower Show will be held from 1-4 p.m. on June 6 in the Shell Knob Community Building on Highway 39 club member Elaine Esterl said in a news release.

Traditional flower show

This year the Austin Daylily Society is doing something different. During its May 9 show, the society is breaking from the traditional flower show procedure and letting the public judge the show. This year will be the "People's Choice Awards." Everyone who comes to the show will be given a ballot to vote for their favorite entries.

21st annual Flower Show

FILOLI'S 21st annual Flower Show, "Kaleidoscope of Flowers," where gorgeous floral arrangements and table settings will complement the splendor of the Filoli house and gardens, is on Mother's Day weekend, May 7-10.

Tulips are in full bloom

The tulips are in full bloom and many of the spring flowers, trees and shrubs are looking their best for the anticipated hundreds of visitors for the event that runs from nine a.m. until five p.m. Those attending can purchase plants, take in vegetable lectures, listen to music and children and participate in lawn games and enter in the scarecrow contest.
