Pensacola Area's festivals
The Emerald Coast Flower and Garden Show is this weekend - April 3-5, 2009. It's out in Milton on the PJC Campus. It is unique among the Pensacola Area's festivals in that it is small and focused - every vendor is absolutely relevant to Flowers or Gardening. All of the vendors are VERY knowledgeable. Great finds range from bonsai to orchids to grapefruit trees.
The garden is arranged by flower colors
The original rose garden was removed for an expansion of The Haggin Museum many years ago. The new rose garden was the work of Stockton Beautiful to beautify the Stockton community.The Stockton Rose Society had some input into the selection of roses and continues to use the garden for educational activities.
Flowers grow on paper
An exhibition of collagraphs, paperwork and light boxes by Ilona Yusuf is starting today (Tuesday) at Nomad Art Gallery. During press preview of her exhibition, Yusuf said, "In my current exhibition, I returned to calligraphy as a means of expression".
The Beauty of Wild Flowers
This year's tour will feature a record 45 home gardens throughout the Los Angeles basin, a majority of which were designed, planted and tended by the homeowners themselves. Several of the gardens have been featured in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Dwell, Sunset Magazines and other media.
A two-day exhibition of flowers
A two-day exhibition of flowers, jointly organised by Horticultural Society and Capital Development Authority (CDA), will commence today (Monday) at F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park.
Largest flower show
A group of buyers - many of them longtime participants in the nation's third-largest flower show - stepped forward to purchase its rights from Kelly, who is retiring after 24 years. The show, which wrapped up Sunday, attracted more than 40,000 patrons. The sale should be finalized Tuesday, Kelly said.

The Richmond Garden Club will present a spring flower show at 7:30 p.m. April 2 at Richmond-Burton Community High School, 8311 Route 31, Richmond.All flower arrangements will be raffled, and the event will feature a special design challenge this year, according to a garden club news release.
Recycle! Junk to Gems
The theme for this year's flower show is "Recycle! Junk to Gems." This theme will give you an opportunity to use all sorts of interesting recycled containers and materials in your arrangements. It's going to be fun thinking "outside the box" for arrangement ideas.
Naples Garden Club
Demonstrations of horticulture and design techniques as well as talks on plumeria and tillandsias are scheduled. There will be vendors of unusual plants, unique jewelry and handcrafted items, plus lunch and snacks will be available for purchase.
Romantic Gardens
This weekend the region's Super Bowl of gardening and landscape artistry will take place at Hudson Valley Community College.The 22nd Capital District Garden and Flower Show will run Friday through Sunday at the McDonough Sports Complex featuring displays by the best area green artists.
Time to prune back rose bushes
Now is the time to prune back your rose bushes if you have not already done so. Rake all of your straw or any mulch you may have around the rose bushes, then add some manure over the area for a beautiful bush and rose buds.
Botanical Garden
Spring is here. For a glimpse of what you'll eventually see blooming, take a trip to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden for the annual Spring Flower Show. This year, there are more than 42,500 bulbs and a wide variety of spring bloomers -- yellow and pink lilies, pansies, delphinium, buttercups, forget-me-nots, tulips, daffodils, hyacinth and a wealth of others.

The economic downturn has not put a damper on the annual Hong Kong Flower Show. Half a million visitors are expected at the 10-day event and organisers said revenue remains as strong as last year.
