Flowers and Vegetables show
THE federal administrative capital of Putrajaya is showcasing an explosion of colour and design as it proudly hosts the biggest flower and garden show in this part of the region for the second time.
Floral display
Agassiz Garden Club's annual show will be August 17 - a week later than usual. Entries must be staged between 5 and 8 p.m. Sunday, August 16 at Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. Judging takes place in the morning August 17 and then the show opens to the public at 1:30 p.m. The prize presentations are at 8 p.m.
More than 4oo exhibits
The District Flower Show will be held at Perham's Prairie Wind Middle School on Thursday, August 6. This is a rare opportunity for East Otter Tail garden enthusiasts, as the regional show is hosted in Perham only about every seven years, according to Donna Gill, Perham Lady Slipper Garden Club.
Plants & Flowers arrangements
The show gives amateur gardeners and junior and adult flower arrangers the opportunity to display cut garden flowers, potted plants and flower arrangements at the Dutchess County Fair. Adult arranging classes are scheduled for opening day Aug. 25 and Aug. 29.
Flowers and Vegetables
"Flowers and Butterflies" is the theme of the Polo Women's Garden Club Second Annual Flower Show on Saturday, Aug. 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Polo Town Hall, 117 N. Franklin St., Polo. After a great show and turnout last year, the club members are sponsoring another one with even more to see and do.
Horticulture show
PLANS are well under way for the resurrection of Hawick Flower Show which will be held next month following an absence of 11 years. The event is returning to the local calendar on Saturday, August 15, when townsfolk will be able to enter their flowers, floral art, fruit, vegetables, art, baking, preserves and handicrafts for judging.
Not just flowers
GREEN-FINGERED residents, culinary wizards and budding gardeners have less than a week to enter the city's flower show. The annual Worcester City Flower Show starts in Cripplegate Park on Saturday, August 15, but needs more entries to make it an even bigger success than last year, say organisers.
Bees are the buzz
A big surge in public interest in beekeeping is expected to be reflected in a high level of entries for the traditional bees and honey section at Shrewsbury Flower Show next month.
Dandenong's Garden Festival
As part of a plan to rejuvenate the region a new event, Inspiring in Spring - The Dandenong's Garden Festival, will feature some of the finest blooms. Using the romantic hide-aways, enchanted forests of the hills and a wide range of activities, the festival aims to celebrate the region's diversity.
Angus flower festival
FLORAL displays with literary roots are expected to tempt people to an Angus flower festival this weekend. Some 22 displays based on the theme A Library of Flowers can be seen at Brechin Cathedral this weekend.

Cut flowers
Agassiz Garden Club's annual Horticultural Show is scheduled for August 16 and 17 at Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. It has been a discouraging year for gardening, but if everyone brings a few exhibits, we'll still have a good show.

According to the chief of the Lam Dong People's Committee Office, Vo Ngoc Hiep, the event is being postponed until January 1-4 2001 to become a cultural activity to celebrate the 1000th Thang Long - Hanoi anniversary. The number of days for the third festival will be shortened from five to four days, with a total cost of 15 billion dong, including 5 billion dong from the state budget.

THE annual agricultural extravaganza known as Driffield Show will celebrate its 134th year on Wednesday July 22. Thousands of people from across the UK will flock to the lush and expansive showground at Kelleythorpe to help organisers to celebrate the occasion. The show continues to expand and improve and is proud to be the largest one day agricultural show in the North of England.

Flower competition
THE tragic deaths of 23 Chinese cockle pickers in Morecambe Bay will be remembered in Lancaster City Council's display at this year's RHS Flower Show. The council has teamed up with acclaimed local artist Chas Jacobs to design the display, which will go on show at Tatton Park in the National Flower Bed Competition.

THE little 'Tin Church' at Edithmead is holding its annual fllower festival this Saturday and Sunday. The church is celebrating being on the site for 90 years this year and the theme for the flowers will be anniversaries.
Weekend festival
UPPER Langwith Flower Festival takes place this weekend at Holy Cross Church based on a theme of 'Past Times'. Holy Cross Church will be open on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July, 10am till 5pm.

The Graves Memorial Library's biannual Flower Show and Decorated Bird House Auction, to benefit the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2. This fundraiser combines books, flowers, and a great deal of imagination.
Carnival of flowers
Gardeners are urged to bring their best blooms to the TAFE Horticulture Campus between 9am and 11am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for judging, with winners receiving a voucher for a special meal at Preston Peak Winery. The Toowoomba Hospice Camellia and Winter Flower Show is on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm in the Heritage Building Society's Camellia Hall in Lindsay Street.
Over 600 exhibitors at show
The annual Hampton Court Palace Flower Show has opened in London. This year, there's a strong focus on growing your own vegetables, climate change and sustainable gardening. And, series of gardens marks the 500th anniversary of King Henry the 8th's accession to the throne.
Species of plants
Unique plants, flowers in full bloom, and beautiful animals will take centerstage this week when the 2nd Philippine International Flora & Fauna Garden Expo (PIFGEX 2009) opens on Thursday at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The show, which features the theme "Protecting and Sustaining Nature," will be a four-day event and will feature an exhibit, tradeshow, and a conference.
Mugunghwa Festival
Hongcheon-gun in Gangwon Province will hold the first National Flower Mugunghwa Festival for seven days from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2. The festival is designed to admire the spirit of the great teacher Nam Gung-euk, who demonstrated his love for his country during the Japanese colonial rule with a more passionate soul than anyone else.
Flowers in bloom
SHREWSBURY Flower Show is anticipating an influx of visitors this year as organisers feel numbers will be boosted by people deciding to holiday in the UK. Event organiser Shropshire Horticultural Society says advance ticket sales are well up on last year, and there is already a waiting list of would-be exhibitors.

Derbyshire's heritage and personalities will feature in a flower festival at an Alfreton church this weekend. Local firms and industry, famous names from the past, sporting heroes and arts and music will be included in floral displays at the two-day festival at Alfreton Wesley Church in Ellesmere Avenue.

St Stephen's Church in the village will host the Hightown Flower Show on Saturday, July 18. Residents have already been sent schedules for the event. There will be more than 100 classes for adult and children with trophies as well as cash prizes up for grabs.
108 classes and new trophies
BISHOPS Lydeard fete and flower show takes place in the village hall at 2pm on Saturday, July 18. There will be stalls and children's entertainment on The Green. The show boasts 108 classes and new trophies for hanging baskets and home made chocolate brownies.
Out of This World
The Tri-Cities Garden Club will be reaching new frontiers this year with their annual flower show. The show's theme this year is "Out of This World." It will take place Thursday through Saturday at Spring Lake District Library, 123 E. Exchange St.
Flowers & Fruits
The Ilminster Flower, Fruit, Vegetable and Craft Show is at the Ile Youth and Community Centre in Frog Lane on Saturday, August 2. It will be open to the public at 2.30pm, and light refreshments will be served by Ilminster WI throughout the afternoon with a raffle and auction after the awards at about 4.30pm.
50 Floral displays
FLOWER arrangers from Ledbury and Bromyard will receive a visit from HRH Princess Alexandra when they take part in a flower festival being held by St Michael's Hospice. The Bromyard Floral Art Club and Ledbury and District Floral Art Club are joining in with the hospice's "A Cornucopia of Silver" flower festival, which is taking place at Lyde Arundel, near Hereford, from Friday to Sunday, July 17-19.
1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi
The Lam Dong provincial People's Committee has decided to reschedule the Da Lat Flower Festival from 2009 to 2010 to coordinate with the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. The event, previously scheduled for December 19-23, 2009, will be held from January 1-4, 2010.
Annual Flower Show
Westmeston & Streat Annual Flower Show will be held on Saturday 29th August. The show will be held at Westmeston Parish Hall opening at 2pm. This year the side shows will includ, a Raffle, Spin the Wheel, a Treasure Hunt of Westmeston & Streat, Skittles, there will also be stalls selling local crafts.
Full of Plants & Flowers
The six gardens of Henry VIII, one of the more dramatic features of the Hampton Court Palace flower show, which opens tomorrow, should really have contained one plot full of dead plants, two which have been removed to give more fertile plants a chance, two with all the heads cut off, and only one blooming and healthy.
Canada's largest horticultural
Garden & Floral Expo will be celebrating its 10th anniversary at this year's edition of the show, which will be held October 20-21 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Each year, the Garden & Floral Expo attracts more than 3,400 industry professionals - retailers, growers, garden centre owners, florists, gift and mass merchants from Canada's largest horticultural marketplace. Over 87% percent of 2008 exhibitors agree that they met or exceeded their marketing objectives.
Flowers & Music
Visit the attractive 14th century church with its flower displays. This year's theme is "Music". Some of the gardens in the village are open to the public just for this weekend. On both days there are ploughman's lunches, a Village Hall bar and teas. On SAT only - stalls, live music and some games.
Five-mile trail
AN EVENING walk focusing on the identification of wild flowers around Stroud will take place on Wednesday, July 8 between 5.30pm and 8pm. Participants on the five-mile trail, organised by Stroud Valleys Project, will start on the corner of Summer Street and Bisley Old Road and follow a circular route up to Rodborough Common.
Floral arrangements
The Volunteer Garden Club is hosting a standard flower show from 1 to 5 p.m. July 23 at the Fly Arts Center, 204 South Main St. The show is free and open to the public. This year's theme is "From These Roots."
Crafts and Floral art
The Formby Horticultural Society is calling on green-fingered adults and youngsters to take part in its annual event. There will be a host of competitions in flowers, crafts and floral art as well as a front and back garden competition. It will take place at St Jerome's Church in Greenloons Drive, on Saturday, July 11.
First garden show
A Solsberry native has gardening in her genes. Janice Bean spends most of her time outside on her 17.5 acres of ground tending to perennial gardens. The show is planned from 10 a.m. - dark on July 3. Prices will vary from $5 to $15 per perennial depending on the size.
Floral display
Heage Windmill was awash with colour for the village's flower festival on Saturday. Volunteers worked on displays that were put on each floor of the windmill for visitors to enjoy as they toured the structure.
