Images of flowers
Stan Freeny's digital photography exhibit on Flowers of Morristown is currently on display in the F.M. Kirby Gallery at the Morristown & Morris Twp Library .
The display are images of flowers and other colorful plants grown in the Morristown area. Specifically, the photographs were made in the gardens of the Frelinghuysen Aboretum, at the Arboretum's 2006 Daffodil Show and in the Heritage Garden of the Macculloch Hall Historical Museum.
Dahlia Tubers
The Yeovil and District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society will be holding its 65th open chrysanthemum show this weekend.
The show will be held at the Holy Trinity Scout Hall in Plantagenet Chase, off Lysander Road, Yeovil, on November 21-22.
Varieties of flowers
The first ever flower festival in Cebu City kicked off Nov 18 morning through a parade of floats, decorated with varieties of flowers, from Fuente Osmeņa to Plaza Sugbu. The festival will run for three days until November 20.
The cutflower industry in the city as well as an opportunity for small-scale producers to find their niche in the local and international market.
Christmas Poinsettia sale
NGTC Horticulture students inspect this year's poinsettia crop. North Georgia Technical College's Environmental Horticulture Department will hold its Christmas Poinsettia sale through Thursday, Nov. 19, on the Clarkesville campus. The greenhouse will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Little Flower Council
The Little Flower Council of St. Therese Parish in Rothschild will hold its annual Holiday Showcase from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at the St. Therese School gymnasium and cafeteria, 112 W. Kort St., Schofield.
Hanging Holly Ball
JAMES Watt College have launched a festive new evening class. The three week "All About Christmas Flowers" course begins on Tuesday 24 November.
Students will discover everything from simple flower arrangements to table settings, decorations, wreathes and even a 'Hanging Holly Ball' for those with their eye on someone at the Christmas party.
Organic gardening
Master Gardener Organic Gardening Day 2009 will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Hawthorn Hotel and Suites, 101 Trade Center Drive, Champaign.
Organic gardening experts from around the world will present five educational sessions to inspire herb gardening and use in the coming year.
The flower that bursts into bloom
The port city of Timaru welcomes the start of the summer with the Timaru Festival of Roses. Visitors can enjoy workshops, exhibitions and garden tours, all in honour of the flower that bursts into bloom around November.
Complex Flowers
The public can enjoy a rare opportunity to see these complex flowers firsthand Monday, Nov. 16, at the Ball State greenhouses, located in Christy Woods and open to the public 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Coryanthes orchid, also known as the Bucket orchid, is a rare species from Amazonian South America.
Red Hot
Join in with the Coromandel Peninsula's celebrations of the Pohutukawa Tree, a natural beauty and icon of New Zealand. Events take place around the peninsula, particularly in the town of Thames, with all proceeds going towards the trees' conservation.
Promoting Flower Business
With the objective of promoting flower business and to raise awareness about floriculture, Floriculture Association of Nepal, Kaski, is organizing third Flower Exhibition in Pokhara from Wednesday. The four-day exhibition features around 22 stalls that display some 450 varieties of flowers and saplings.
Floral Fantasy
Pi Beta Phi Alumnae club's sixth annual Floral Fantasy is Nov. 19, and you'll be able to watch floral masterpieces be created right before your eyes.
The event will be at Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 4701 Far Hills Ave., in Kettering. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. The program begins at 7 p.m. and ends no later than 9:30 p.m.
Fall Flower Design
Camellia Garden Club invites the public to its next "Fun with Flowers" on Nov. 18, at the Winter Haven Garden Center.
The Camellia Garden Club will present this floral designer at its fall 2009 "Fun with Flowers." Make and take home a fall flower design under Burkhart's step by step directions. All materials will be furnished except clippers. Each participant must provide their own.
The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Christmas flower show
The Parry Sound Horticultural Society's Christmas flower show "An Old-Fashioned Christmas" will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Seguin Seniors hall at 80 James Street.
Pine Garden Resort
2009 Sinshe Flower Sea Festival will kick off on November 14, 2009 in Sinshe Township, Taichung County. Although the event hasn't started yet, now it is the perfect time to appreciate the fascination of flower sea before the venue is crowded with nationwide tourists.
